Starting something new can feel a little scary—but we promise, Taekwon-Do is fun, friendly, and exciting! If you're thinking about trying your first class at Woodford Taekwon-Do, here’s what you can expect:
👋 1. A Warm Hello
When you arrive, we will say hello, show you around, and help you feel welcome. You might even make a new friend before class starts!
👕 2. What Should I Wear?
You don’t need a uniform for your first class. Just wear:
A comfy t-shirt and joggers or leggings
No shoes—we train in bare feet!
🏃 3. Warming Up
We start every class with some running, jumping, and stretching to get your body ready. It’s like a mini game to wake up your muscles!
🥊 4. Learning Cool Moves
You’ll learn some basic Taekwon-Do moves like:
How to stand strong (called stances)
Easy blocks and punches
Beginner kicks (your favourite part!)
Our instructors will show you how to do them step-by-step. No pressure—you can go at your own speed.
🤝 5. Respect Is Important
We bow at the start and end of class to show respect. You’ll learn how to line up, listen carefully, and treat others kindly—just like a true martial artist!
😊 6. Lots of Encouragement
It’s okay if you don’t get everything perfect. Everyone was a beginner once. We’re here to help you learn, grow, and feel proud of every step you take.
🧒 For Parents
We understand some children feel shy or nervous when trying something new. Our classes are friendly and gently structured to help kids build confidence at their own pace—no pressure, just progress.
